The Digital Footprints of the Cast of Sherlock
What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. In 2010, PBS aired – as part of its Masterpiece anthology series – a BBC produced, contemporary re-imagining of Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved Sherlock Holmes stories, straightforwardly entitled Sherlock. The series, which consisted of three 90 minute episodes, was a massive hit in the U.K. (where it originally aired on BBC One), and managed to find a respectable audience for itself in the U.S. as well.
British TV screens were treated to a second run of three 90 minute episodes back in January of this year, but the program finally makes its highly anticipated return to American screens on May 2.
Being the PeekScore blog, we decided to mark the occasion not with a critique, nor a bunch of hacky jokes declaring “elementary…” and babbling about deerstalker hats, but with a rundown of the show’s relatively small recurring cast, throwing the series’ co-Executive Producer – who himself is a household name in the U.K. – on the list for good measure (the program’s other Executive Producer is also in the cast, so he was on the list already). We’re comparing no aspect of their careers nor fame apart from their various impacts here in cyberspace, as quantified on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).
Have you seen Sherlock? What did you think? Are there any other TV shows – British, or otherwise – you’d like to see us profile on the PeekScore blog? Let us know in the comments.

The PeekScores of the NHL’s Top 10 Goal Scorers of the 2011-2012 Season
What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. Whether in the hinterlands of Canada or the mountains of Virginia (although vastly more so in the former), we all scream for ice hockey. The long, cold winter is not long behind us, which means the NHL playoff season – the race to partake of the questionable sounding act of drinking from Lord Stanley’s coveted cup – is upon us in earnest. In honor of the blood spilled, teeth lost, and many drunken renditions of Gary Glitter’s Rock and Roll, Part 2 bellowed out by the bleary eyed gathered in arenas throughout North America this year, here are the season’s top 10 goal scorers.
The actual “goals scored” stats of these fine gentlemen are all well and good, and are included here, but we’ll leave it to others to rank them based on those numbers, or to even consider their various accomplishments on the ice in any way. With this survey we’re comparing the sizes of their presences and impacts here in cyberspace, as we always do (a description of which can be found above or more in depth by clicking through here).
Do you have any favorites in the playoffs this year? Let us know in the comments.

The PeekScores of the GOP’s VP Shortlist
What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. This presidential election year is well and fully underway, and the race to be the GOP’s nominee has finally found itself with a presumptive victor in former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. While no one has any clue who may wind up chosen to be the governor’s running mate after all is said and done, the blogosphere and mainstream media have been rampant with speculation.
So, where does the PeekScore come in to this? Well, if you know the blog at all, you already know the answer. We’ve taken 10 of the most prominent names being bandied about by those given to bandying such things, and put them to the PeekScore test. We can’t speculate as to the likelihood of any of these gentlemen being selected, nor upon the degree to which their possible selection might hurt or help Mitt’s bid. But, we can – at a championship level, and with impunity – assess and compare the sizes of their respective digital footprints (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here), and we believe we shall.
Are there any names we left off? Any favorite Republicans you’d like to have seen included? Let us know in the comments.

The Digital Footprints of “The Best-Liked Tech CEOs”
What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. Recently, the job rating site Glassdoor.com posted their list of the CEOs most highly rated by their employees. Additionally, Glassdoor provided more granular breakdowns by industry, including the top 10 highest rated tech CEOs. It is this more specific list of well-liked executives with which this PeekScore blog entry is concerned.
Simply, and as before and as ever, we’re sizing these bigwigs up not based upon the varying quantities of wealth contained within their bonus checks, nor even – as Glassdoor has already done – the degree to which their employees are satisfied with the jobs they’re doing. This is a look at how these popular chiefs compare to one another here on the web, in terms of their respective impacts and presences (i.e., their digital footprints, as outlined above and more in depth by clicking through here), as measured on our PeekScore scale.
Are there any tech CEOs you’d have expected to see so highly rated among their underlings? Don’t keep it yourself. Share with us in the comments.

The PeekScores of the Biggest Female Pop Stars
What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.
This list is really rather straightforward. Here are ten of today’s most enormous female pop stars – some more veteran, some newer, all current huge sellers, award winners, and headline grabbers – measured and compared not based on the sizes of their record sales, nor the qualities of their recordings, but based upon the sizes of their impacts here on the Net (i.e., their digital footprints, an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).
As you may notice, the majority of these superstars find themselves topping out our 1 to 10 PeekScore scale. Given the household name status of them each, this comes as no surprise to us. It should be noted, though, that the order is not arbitrary and is in fact legitimate. Within our score of 10 there are subtle gradations and there’s a little wiggle room at the top. While it’s a VERY close race amongst these divas, this is still an accurate ordering of where things stand today. Whatever the order today or tomorrow, though, it goes without saying that all of these women are far and away, and well and beyond accounted for here in cyberspace.
Are there any female megastars you would want to see on this list? Let us know in the comments.
